AUGUSTA LOWE's - BUYER BEWARE! This may ramble a bit because I'm quite angry. Anyway, a few years back I bought a Troy-Built Storm Tracker from Lowe's in Augusta. My father loves the machine as it runs well and throws the snow far; however, we have had continued issues with the track coming off at least a couple of times each winter. In the past, we have usually had someone local take care of it for us, but unfortunately they have proven to be very untrustworthy - scheduling appointments and just not showing up (or even calling) while my parents sat around all day waiting for said individual(s). So this time, my mom called the manager of the Augusta Lowe's and expressed our frustration with this constant repair issue. She requested they pick it up and put the track back on. We offered to pay for both the pick-up and the repairs. They told her they couldn't pick it up because it was beyond warranty and I hadn't bought the extended warranty. (PS last time this happened, a nice lady in customer service had offered exactly what we had requested if we would be willing to pay for it). They even went on to say they had no record of my purchase, only to then say I had returned the Troy-Built. My parents are in their 70's, I work full-time, and we have no way to deliver this to Lowe's for repair. This is the same Lowe's that last summer delivered the wrong lawn tractor I purchased for my dad. (What a surprise they sent a smaller/cheap model despite what I paid.) They originally told me they would deliver the correct one in a week, but after pointing out when they had promised delivery on such and such a day and that the error was their issue and not ours, they delivered the correct mower later that day. In short, this is the type of customer service we get from big corporations while they get large tax breaks - none of which expire much like my tax breaks will. I post this to warn folks about the Augusta Lowe's customer service and to be wary of purchases you may make there. I will be cancelling my Lowe's credit card and never purchasing from them again. Please share this so others might now get screwed by a corporation who apparently wants our money, but fails to lend a hand - even if I was willing to pay for the hand - when asked.
